Racial Trauma & Healing.
Racialized trauma can take various forms and often be experiences within wider systems. Often it can come as a result of direct experiences, or from experiences seen within media or from others facing similar experiences. Some of the things examined in this training include:
Explorations of individual and systemic racism
Direct traumatic stressors and that direct impacts they have on folks living within said structure (also, examination of barriers)
Vicarious traumatic stressors and the impact it has on health
Transmitted stressors and how trauma becomes generational
How one begins the healing process from said traumatic events
This session also centers conversations on power and privilege and ways we can better advocate for those who are often suffering from said experiences.
